Click on “ YES” to patch the EXE and restart the game. As soon as you launch the game with the mod installed, you’ll get a message that will warn you about the EXE file not being patched with the 4GB tool. It is set up to automatically patch the game for you.

Diehard fans of the original get a beautifully crafted update in the form of the HD Project while old and new fans alike get a beatifically crafted modern experience which fleshes out and builds upon what made the original so great! Thanks to both the 2023 remake and the HD Project, we now have (in a way) the best of both worlds. It had just the right balance of fresh new mechanics in terms of combat and exploration while including little reminders of the original game. While Capcom has reimagined a modern version of the game, a few dedicated fans have taken it upon themselves to enhance and preserve the original RE4's legacy in a way befitting of such a masterpiece. Though I do encourage donating what you would've spent on an official remaster to their PayPal, which is available on their website. It's one of greatest remasters a game has gotten, let alone a fan project and it's free!.
There's really no reason NOT to play the game like this from now on. To be honest, this feels like the best remaster of RE4 we could have possibly asked for. We're even able to adjust the FOV, so you can stop complaining about that now.

Alongside its graphical improvements, it will also finally have full HD videos, the original DoF blurring effect from the GC/Wii versions as well as the option to have the fixed camera-angles in Ashley's section (being previously exclusive to the Japanese version), all thanks to the recent re4_tweaks mod by nipkow and emoose.
